Unity Partnerships
For most organizations, Unity Partnerships are the way to go.
NEA Labor Solidarity
In addition, the AFL-CIO and the NEA recently signed a partnership agreement that allows local affiliates of the NEA to affiliate with the national AFL-CIO and to join the federation at the local and state levels. Directly affiliated NEA locals will have the same rights as any direct affiliate of the AFL-CIO, including jurisdictional protection and representation and voting rights.
State Federation/Central Labor Council Affiliation
The AFL-CIO and national unions are encouraging locals to affiliate with state federations and local labor councils to build the solidarity that leads to power.

AFL-CIO/NDLON Partnership
The AFL-CIO also has formed a historic partnership with the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON). AFL-CIO state federations and central labor councils will work with NDLON’s day laborer worker centers on issues ranging from workplace rights to immigration reform to health and safety and other job-related concerns.
