Shirley Temple Black, Philip Seymour Hoffman Among SAG Honorees

Jan. 30­­—The Screen Actors honored Shirley Temple Black, child star and former ambassador to Ghana and the former Czechoslovakia, with the union’s Life Achievement Award during the Jan. 29 live broadcast of the Annual SAG Awards. Now in its 12th year, the SAG Awards, which recognize the outstanding performances of 205 in five film and eight television categories, is the largest such award show in which all the voters and recipients are union members.

 

Some of the top award winners include Philip Seymour Hoffman for his lead role in the movie “Capote,” Reese Witherspoon for her lead role in “Walk The Line,” Keifer Sutherland for his role as Jack Bauer in the TV series “24,” Sandra Oh, who plays Dr. Cristina Yang on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and the cast of the movie “Crash.”
